Beautiful Joni Prudentino, my Filipino friend

Joni and her family are national missionaries in Batangas City in the Philippines. Since 18-year-old Joni is currently attending Bible college in the U.S., she will be away from her family for four years!

Joni's mom, Ella, is my best Filipino friend; and I wanted to do something special for her since this will be her first Mother's Day away from Joni. Joni recently spent the night at my house, and we did a quick photo shoot the following day for the express purpose of my sending an 8x10 to her mom for Mother's Day. I'm so excited for Ella to receive the pic in the mail! I only wish Joni's three beautiful sisters could have been here for me to photograph as well!

Keith and I used to be co-workers when he was formerly on staff at our church. This was a nice addition to my photography portfolio since not too many men are dying to endure a photo shoot. As you can see, there was lots of variety in this session.

I actually had never met these folks, but connected with them because I am the secretary to my pastor, who was asked to do their vow renewal ceremony. This was a surprise to them from their children! It was too sweet, and I enjoyed capturing their memories.

Our church allows a group of Congolese believers (who have their own pastor) to use a room of our building each Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Often, I happen to be there working when they are there. I LOVE to hear them sing! Today, I just happened to have my camera in hand when I spotted some of these adorable kids!

Three-year-old Ethan is easily one of the most personable, articulate toddlers I've ever encountered! I don't think I've ever laughed so much in one photo shoot; and, I was hard-pressed to catch some shots where his mouth is not in motion. Even the speed of the shutter could not catch this adorable little guy not talking. They tell me he literally talks himself to sleep!

His beautiful mother, Shanise, is in a few of the photos with him as well.

Of all the (literally) thousands of photos I shot this past year, I believe I have to say this is my favorite. It just touches me. I took it in the slums of Manila on my 6th mission trip to the Philippines this past April. Oh, how I LOVE those people!

Talk about a learning experience! Doing my first official family shoot with a family of 6 kids definitely taught me that I need to have a game plan for the shoot BEFORE we arrive. Thanks, Kesling gang, for being so patient.
P.S. Kesling kids, I hope you got that ice cream your dad kept promising you! Oh, and Heidi...definitely sorry about your cell phone falling in the creek...oops

My youngest son and his wife were able to drive up from Louisiana for Christmas this year. They are stationed at Barksdale AFB there; and with a likely second deployment for Tim in the near future, we were all grateful for the time together.

Poor mommy/daughter duo, Hannah & Hailee, were troopers for surviving an outdoor shoot on such a cold day! We finally resorted to a warm, cozy bookstore with a nice staircase for the last part of the shoot. It's easy to take cute pictures when you're working with teo very cute girls!
